The first Iranian woman to win an Oscar, Rayka Zehtabchi is a director working in both documentary and fiction. Her documentaries “Period. End of Sentence.” and “A Woman’s Place” can be seen on Netflix and Hulu, respectively. Rayka is primarily drawn to simple stories that prioritize heart over flash. She brings a naturalistic approach to her storytelling, always striving for honesty and intimacy on screen.

Yaran International, a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides funding and manpower to support those in need with food, medical and healthcare services, affordable housing, and education for children, among other basic necessities. Our mission is to bring positive change to our country and the world. Yaran International comprises of members, donors and sponsors in Iran and abroad, whose contribution of time, money and energy thrusts us forward in the pursuit of our goals.
We are hosting a fundraising event on July 27, 2024 at Laguna Hills Community Center, aiming to raise much-needed funds directly benefiting individuals and families living in desperate conditions in Iran.

Our sponsorship packages come with logo and name recognition, event promotion, event participation, and special mention, depending on the sponsorship package you choose and the level of your participation.
